The Deerfield River Fishing Report for 12/14/19: The Deerfield is currently at flood stage and will likely take a couple days to come back down to fishable levels. Fishing was quite good before the rain with double digit action on rainbows and a handful of big browns to the net. Egg patterns, San Juans, midges, stoneflies, and cased caddis were producing as well as heavy sculpin patterns fished low on the bottom, the latter resulting in the pictured brown. Fishing on the Swift River in Belchertown/Ware has been consistently good with a mix of rainbows and brookies. Winter fishing is some of the best of the entire year for big browns so come on out if you get cabin fever!
