The Deerfield River Fly Fishing Report for 11/27/19: Happy Thanksgiving ! The fishing on the Deerfield has been rock solid with double digit action on most float trips. Fish have been coming mainly on Tight Line Clown eggs but there has been a shift in non-spawning areas to the usual winter time patterns like mercury midges, rainbow warriors, san juans, and stoneflies. Browns are starting to eat streamers again as more than half have completed their spawning and are beginning to feed again. Fishing on the Swift is in a similar pattern, just downsize everything especially your tippet, there’s been a nice mix of Brookies and rainbows over there away from the crowds.
