The Deerfield River Fishing report for 1/25/2021: Fishing has been nothing short of fantastic over the last couple weeks on the D- every float trip has resulted in double digit action on rainbows and wild browns- browns in the high teens and low twenties have been coming into the net on every float- mostly on indicators and nymphs. Golden stones, cased caddis, winter stones, and midges have been the go to flies. Some of the fish have been caught in soft water adjacent to fast water- good areas to prospect anytime of year but particularly in the winter- dont be afraid to fish shallow either, especially with midges in the afternoon when midge activity is at its peak. If you want in on this amazing action give me a shout- I’ve been posting the action on my
Instagram feed at jacksonchrisd- after you catch some big browns you wont even notice the temps! Dress appropriately and winter fishing can be enjoyable- it’s also the easiest time of year to catch a trophy wild brown. Any day over 32 and its game on !
