Browntown!

Browntown! The Deerfield River Fly Fishing Report for 11/21/19: The fishing on the Deerfield River has been good with lots of egg eating rainbows and a smattering of post spawn browns. Most of the action is coming on Tight Line Clown Eggs – be sure to tie them in a variety of colors as the color preference definitely changes day to day and sometimes depending on time of day. I’d say that half of the browns have completed their spawning as of this report and I expect the post spawn fish to start eating streamers again as they try to fatten up for winter. Midges and small winter stones should be deployed in your arsenal too. Fishing on the Swift River has been ok from Cady Lane down with mostly brookies and a few rainbows and browns in the mix. With warmer weather in the forecast I expect a good bite right through the Thanksgiving holiday. Speaking of holidays- gift certificates are available for purchase through the website. Give the gift of a fly fishing trip to your favorite fly angler! Whether you’re new to fly fishing or an expert, a day on the water with yours truly makes for an awesome gift. Gift certificates start at $150 off a trip to $450 for a full day float trip for two. Gift certificates can be customized too, just give me a shout and we’ll make it happen. In the meantime give me a call if you feel like taking advantage of the warm weather before winter settles in!!
